Bring Art to Southwest Oklahoma. It was formed as a Foundation with a working gallery by Leslie Powell in his will. We charge no admission and no commission on works sold. We give art scholarships to deserving art students at Cameron University, grants, hold concerts, film prmiers, regular lecture series. We hold a national art show every two years with $5000.00 is awards, and 6 shows a year, each running two months.

It has 36 historic buildings dating from 1869-1875, along with a diverse collection focused on the history of Fort Sill, the Frontier Army, regional settlement and Native Americans.

US Army Field Artillery Museum

The Museum was opened June 2, 2009. Previously, the Artillery Collection was part of the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum collection. Our collection includes a representation of uniforms from each era. We have added many new pieces and exhibits to peak the interest of any history or artillery buff.

The 2025 AASLH Annual Conference, in partnership with Ohio Local History Alliance, will take place as the history field makes the final preparations to kickoff off the 250th commemoration of the founding of the United States.

The 2025 conference theme, inspired by AASLH’s Making History at 250: The Field Guide for Semiquincentennial, is an opportunity to broadly explore one of the guide’s themes, The American Experiment. For many in the American colonies in 1776, independence from Britain represented a “leap into the dark” into an unknown future
